What Sick Visits Are For
Sick visits are appropriate for symptoms present for 3–5 days or less, including:
- Upper respiratory symptoms
- Viral or mild bacterial illness
- Acute fatigue or malaise
- Short-term gastrointestinal symptoms
- Other new, uncomplicated concerns
These visits focus on what is happening right now and how to support recovery appropriately.

- Any relevant same-day testing if clinically indicated
- Short-interval follow-up on results
- Brief check-in within a few days if needed
